How does the laser work?

The laser targets the pigment (melanin) in the hair root. The light turns into heat that weakens the follicle and reduces its ability to grow new hair. The surrounding skin is spared because the energy concentrates in the dark root.

Why several sessions?

Hair grows in cycles, and the laser only affects hair that is in its growth phase at the time of the session. Sessions are repeated every 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the area, until all hair has been treated in its growth phase. Occasional maintenance sessions may be needed afterwards, especially with hormonal changes.

Frequently asked questions

Is laser hair removal permanent?

Laser gives a large, long-term reduction in hair growth, and any hair that grows back is finer and lighter. Some people need occasional maintenance sessions, especially with hormonal changes.

Does it hurt?

It feels like quick snaps on the skin, and most people tolerate it easily. Cooling during the session reduces the sensation, and a numbing cream can be used on sensitive areas if the doctor advises it.

Is it suitable for darker skin?

Yes, with the right laser type and settings for your skin tone. White or very light blond hair does not respond to laser because it lacks pigment.

When will I see results?

Treated hair starts to fall out one to two weeks after the session, and growth reduces clearly as the sessions continue.
